Aerovent Recommended for ISO 9001:2000 Revision

When Aerovent sought ISO certification a few years ago, it wasn't to give us a certain status within the industry. We knew that establishing and maintaining a quality control system was a key component to our success. It gave us the opportunity to review our processes to see what was working and what could be improved upon.

Aerovent has revised, added, and modified our quality control management system to better satisfy the needs of our customers and to improve the management of our company. This new revision complies with the latest ISO 9001 revision, (ISO 9001: 2000).

Aerovent took a proactive stance to adhere to the newest revision by creating a steering committee in June, 2002. This committee worked diligently for the next six months to make modifications to our existing quality process.

In January 2003, Orion Registrars, a registered ISO auditing firm spent a few days at Aerovent, looking over the latest revisions. They deemed the audit as successful and recommended Aerovent for registration for ISO 9001: 2000. ISO 9001: 2000 is a new standard that envelops most of the 1994 version. The new standard has changed from 20 element styles to a five-clause format. The five clauses are Quality Management System, Management Responsibility, Resource Management, Product Realization, and Measurement, Analysis and Improvement.

A focus point of the new revision is the communication of customer requirements throughout the organization. Aerovent will continue to determine customer requirements, identify and implement arrangements for customer communication, and convert these requirements into products that will enhance customer satisfaction.

Another key element for the new revision is more focus on customer satisfaction. Aerovent has made great strides over the years toward customer satisfaction and with the new ISO 9001: 2000 revision we are continuing that process.
